Defense Logistics for Controlled and Mission-Critical Cargo
Forward Systems Group is a DDTC-registered freight forwarder in Doral, Florida that handles defense logistics for the U.S. Department of Defense, prime contractors and foreign governments. We move USML-controlled defense articles, from small arms and ammunition to complete aircraft, and we run the licensing and the freight as one scope of work rather than handing either to a third party.
How Forward Systems Group runs defense & government logistics
No authorization, no shipment. Everything else follows from that, which is why we run the whole chain ourselves: registration, authorization, provisos, AES filing, and only then the physical move.
- 1
Register
FSG is DDTC-registered under M28606. Registration must be current at the moment of export, not merely when the licence was granted.
- 2
Authorize
We prepare and manage the DSP-5 permanent export licence, and the TAA where defense services or technical data are involved. Hardware and know-how move under separate approvals.
- 3
Comply
Provisos worked, AES filing made, and CBP cleared at the port of export. This is the step most often skipped, and the one CBP acts on.
- 4
Deliver
Articles move legally, door to door, to U.S. and allied military installations, with escort and chain-of-custody documentation where the commodity requires it.
Skip a step and the cost is real: shipment delay or seizure by CBP, loss of export privileges, and civil or criminal penalties. FSG has executed under this chain for Sikorsky, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Textron Aviation and Defense, Bell Textron, Amentum, Derco Aerospace and IAI, as well as the Colombian, Indonesian, Ecuadorian and Peruvian air forces.
Licensing and freight under one roof
We work directly with the Department of State, Commerce and CBP, and handle the classification and the physical movement as one scope of work. Most forwarders take the freight and leave the licence to somebody else, which is where the gap opens.
A shipment stopped at the border because the licence, the commodity classification and the commercial invoice disagree is an expensive delay and a preventable one. Holding both halves means there is nobody to disagree with.
- Door-to-door delivery to U.S. and allied military installations
- Firearms, ammunition and ordnance
- Rotary wing, engines and ground vehicles
- Remote, austere and hostile-environment destinations
Who we support
Our customers are the organizations for whom a delayed shipment is an operational problem rather than an inventory problem: U.S. government agencies, defense primes and their tier-one suppliers, MRO facilities, and allied ministries of defense buying through Foreign Military Sales or direct commercial sale.
We step in when others fall short, resolving issues for businesses whose shipments were confiscated or delayed due to paperwork errors. Recovering those movements is a core part of the practice.
